Missing teeth

Causes: Dental disease such as decay/infection, gum disease, dental injury, genetics

Treatments: Implants, Bridges, Dentures and braces treatment (in rare cases)

Replacing missing teeth has clear cosmetic as well as dental health benefits. Temporary replacement options can be made within only a few days if needed, to ensure you won't be left with a gap; these include bridges and dentures. In the long term replacing a missing tooth will help with chewing, stabilise the teeth next to it and allow your opposing tooth to bite. The benefits will help maintain a healthy and functional bite in the long term, as well as support the health of your neighbouring natural teeth.

The replacement options available for missing teeth can depend on many factors, such as your oral health, your general health, and the location and size of the space we want to fill. Treatment fees and personal preference plays a big role too; if you prefer a fixed option, implants or bridges may be ideal, however in larger spaces or for those who prefer options that require less tooth alterations or surgery, dentures can be a great option too.

Less frequently, braces or Invisalign may be recommended either to help create a more ideal space for your tooth replacement or to actually close the space.
